4. Coconut Leaf Baskets

Given to: Elizabeth II, the queen From: Salothe Tupou of Tonga; estimated value: $100* When Queen Elizabeth II visited the Commonwealth in 1953, she received an abundance of presents from the people there. Among them is a coconut basket that was given to her by the longest-reigning Tongan queen, Queen Salote Tupou of Tonga, who ruled for nearly 48 years. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh adopted Tongan practices during their tour, which included eating from their fingers while seated on the ground.

The gift "represents an industry that Queen Salote of Tonga, who presented them, had re-established on the island of Tonga," according to the Royal Collection Trust.
