It's no secret that Queen Elizabeth II adored dogs, so it's not shocking that she received pups as gifts over the years. In actuality, her father, King George VI, gave her a corgi puppy for her 18th birthday.

According to Tatler, the puppy went by the name Susan and was "the first of a long line of corgis and dorgis owned by Her Majesty" that all descended from her. When Susan died in 1959, Queen Elizabeth II saw to it that the dog's gravehead was carefully designed.
